We are a group of scholars, both within the academy and without, who write, teach, and build projects around the ordinary products of culture using interdisciplinary theories and methods.

THIS IS OUR FUTURE
We are not pillars of academe yet and our foci are only beginning to form through interaction with each other, study within our research areas, and the feedback of a network of likeminded individuals.

THIS IS POPULAR CULTURE
This website is an effort to create a space for ourselves and others in which popular culture can be shared, commented upon, analyzed, created, and enjoyed. The website founders are all graduates of the Department of Popular Culture MA program at Bowling Green State University, but this is website is apart from any program or institution.

This Is Popular Culture does not seek to be an academic journal or a collective blog, but a liminal space for those thoughts and observations that are well-considered but still need time to develop into legitimate academic research. In addition, This Is Popular Culture aims to point its constituents towards interesting, enlightening, puzzling, or just plain fun popular culture content on the web and in physical spaces.
