Tim Bavlnka

Like the other people on this site, Tim has his Master’s in Popular Culture from BGSU. Unlike the other people on this website, he has a BA in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.

He is primarily interested in textual and extratextual forms of expression, narratives, comic books, superheroes, shamanism, occult creativity, extreme metal music and cultures, and internet history and cultures.

He currently lives in Wisconsin and you should let him into your PhD program.

Brandi J. Venable

Brandi J. Venable graduated from Bowling Green State University with her M.A. in Popular Culture in 2011. She also holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts: Dramatic Writing Option from Boise State University.

Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Childhood Studies at Rutgers University-Camden. Her main interests are in children’s and young adult literature, themes of food and consumption, and the history of childhood.

Nicholas Ware

Nicholas Ware holds an MA in Popular Culture from Bowling Green State University and a BA in Media Production and English Literature from Florida State University.

He lives in Orlando, Florida and is working on a Ph.D. in Texts & Technology from the University of Central Florida. His academic interests are cultural ludology, post-apocalyptic and dystopian narratives, and Japanese popular and folk culture.
